Bartın University (BARÜ), in collaboration with the Bartın Provincial Directorate of National Education, organized an event titled "World Mathematics Day" as part of the International Mathematics Day celebrations. The program, held in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences – Faculty of Education Conference Hall with the theme "Mathematics and Hope," was realized with the contributions of the Faculty of Education's Department of Mathematics Education, the Faculty of Science's Department of Mathematics, the Mathematics Club, and the Arf Club.

Speaking at the opening of the program, BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of mathematics in the learning process.
Akkaya stated, “Today, we will explore the rich and inspiring world of mathematics together. First and foremost, we are teachers, and thanks to the collaboration with the Bartın Provincial Directorate of National Education, we also have valuable mathematics teachers among us. A teacher is someone who prepares the learning environment and illuminates the student's path. Such events demonstrate the significant role mathematics plays in students' understanding of the world and their evaluation of the future.”

The event also featured presentations by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Head of the Department of Mathematics, Prof. Dr. Ömer Kişi, and Assoc.
Dr. from the Faculty of Education. Neslihan Usta also gave a speech, emphasizing that mathematics has a fundamental place in many areas of life. The speakers highlighted the importance of increasing students' interest in mathematics.

The event, which attracted great interest from students of different age groups, provided participants with the opportunity to get to know the interdisciplinary aspects of mathematics.
In the program, which was filled with fun and educational activities, students had the chance to both learn and discover. In addition, mathematics-themed pictures, experiments, and informative materials were displayed in the foyer area throughout the day.
